Family Secret
Noted filmmaker Pola Rapaport documents her discovery of a half-brother that she never knew existed. A man who endured Gestapo persecution in his native Romania before emigrating to America via Paris, Rapaport's father was a profoundly secretive man; his dying words were reportedly "Be discreet." He never discussed his life in Romania nor was Rapaport's mother inclined to ask questions. This veil of secrecy was eventually breached when Pierre Radulescu-Banu, Rapaport's father's 54-year-old Romanian-born son finally managed to contact the filmmaker. This film was screened at the 2000 Rotterdam Film Festival.
