Empire of the Sun
This feature-length Italian documentary was released in the U.S. as Empire of the Sun. In breathtaking color and CinemaScope, the film offers the viewer a guided tour of Peru, from the glittering alabaster of civilization to the wilds of the jungle. During a stopover in the Andes Mountains, the audience is introduced to the ancient Uru Tribe. A trek down the Amazon concludes with a fierce battle between a bull and a condor. And while pausing in Lima, the camera visits a Peruvian bullfighting arena. L'Impero del Sole was assembled by Enrico Gras and Mario Craveri, the same team responsible for the award-winning documentary Lost Continent
