6 Month Rule
Playboy bachelor Tyler Watts (Blayne Weaver) seduces with impunity while operating under the edict that there's no woman he can't forget in six months, only to find his statute put to the ultimate test by the stunning Sophie (Natalie Morales), whose relationship with a popular rock star (Patrick J. Adams ) prompts the cynical womanizer to reconsider his stance on true love.
Director: Blayne Weaver
Starring: Blayne Weaver, Natalie Morales, Martin Starr, Patrick J. Adams, Vanessa Branch
As with the latest Kate Hudson comedy, it's a formula for irrelevancy pretty much as a rule.
Ensemble is sharp, although Adams and Dave Foley (as an obnoxious gallery owner) make more caricatured impressions.
An ostensible romantic comedy that's really just a grating portrait of an irredeemable jerk.
An ineffective indie variation on the sort of generic romantic comedy that should be starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson.
Weaver's last ditch attempt to upend rom-com convention and rewrite the movie as a skeevy lout's comeuppance hardly makes up for the clichéd slog that comes before.
